Of all the different jobs in the hospitality sector, there is probably none as popular and at the same time requiring such deft skills as that of a chef. When you become a chef, the world opens its doors, and you can almost see the red carpet under your feet! However, there is a tremendous amount of skills that are involved till you reach that level of competence when you can claim to have become a chef with gourmets swooning over your recipes. There is, however, a professional way to your climb up the culinary ladder. This involves a training course for chefs and kitchen staff jobs among several other kinds of situations.
The idea of learning the ropes for a job is not new. What is new is the concept of a one-stop shop for tasks as diverse as a Nursery Nurse and an Accountant as well as a Chiropodist and Mortgage Broker. You can become an IT Worker, Web Designer or a Police Officer, HairDresser or a Plumber. Under Travel/ Leisure jobs, you could learn to be a chef or prepare for one of the Kitchen Staff Jobs.
If you want to become a chef, firstly, you need to be passionate about fine cuisine and have a sharp eye and memory for wonderful details. You can be a chef among several types of chefs, depending on the different role for each in the kitchen. You could, therefore, be a Head Chef or an Executive Chef who is the overall commander for all aspects of a kitchen including the creation of the menu and management of staff or the ordering of the foodstuff.

The Sous Chef is an another in command. As an Expediter, your job would consist of relaying the orders from diners to the various stations within the kitchen. Then there is the Station Chef and the Commis Chef as well. No entry levels are specified for commencing chef training. Kitchen staff jobs are, basically, jobs as kitchen assistants, wherein you would be assisting the kitchen chef with usually unskilled tasks, such as washing the food or peeling of potatoes.
